Unique A.F. Biven Breechloading Percussion Rifle
Produced in London, using an interesting tipping breech design, with the barrel rotating 1/8th turn clockwise and sliding forward to disengage an interrupted thread on the breech, which then tips up for loading. Bead front sight, with an unnotched plate in place of the rear sight, both mounted on a set of fixed barrel bands which serve as guides for the barrel, and an engraved folding arm on the left rear of the barrel. The breech and tang are both lightly engraved, with a spot on the tang for mounting a rear sight (absent), a small knob on the left, and a floral engraved drum bolster. Scroll engraved lock, with "Regent Street Waterloo Place" address, adjustable single trigger, and finger rest trigger guard. Checkered straight grip full length stock with sling swivels, a raised shadow-line cheekpiece and an engraved brass buttplate.
