This is a like new limited production hand-cranked 6-barreled Gatling Gun. This Battery Gun is a new made copy of the original first model 1862 pattern Gatling first produced and patented by Richard Gatling. This is a percussion model that uses black-powder and fires 50 caliber lead bullets from a steel chamber. The bullets are loaded into steel chambers that are gravity fed from vertically mounted magazines. As the firer rotates the large brass hand crank, the steel cylinder rotates inside the housing which in turn fires each steel chamber. As the cylinder rotates, each spent steel chamber drops out of the bottom of receiver, and in turn pick up a new steel chamber to start the firing sequence again. During the production of this model the company uses current state of the art CNC machinery to manufacture all the various internal parts and the barrel are made from gun-metal steel so it's safe to shoot. The receiver or housing is made from bronze. It is mounted on a hardwood tripod with a steel mount that rotates. The rear of the housing has a large name plate which reads "Gatling Battery Gun/Patented Nov 1862/Serial No. 0023/Gatling Gun Company/Ortonville Michigan". This item is complete with 20 steel chambers (which can be used over and over) two of the vertical feed magazines and a disassembly tool.
