Henry Jenks, 4 pages, 5" x 8", Algiers, La., July 7, 1864, writing to his wife about his troops preparations to leave Louisiana and hopes for the family's future is he does not survive the war. In small part: "<I>Another steamer landed this side of the river to night loaded with troops a part of the 13th corps... I guess Gen. Grant means to get all his forces together and take Lee and Richmond by storm... if I die, tell my little boy... his father fought and died in the glorious cause of his country...</B></I>".
