<B>Armed Union Private 1/6th Plate Tintype.</B></I> The resolute young soldier is this scarce image is well-armed with an imported Austrian Lorenz rifle and its wickedly long sword bayonet. A knapsack and heavy wool overcoat suggest that the subject is about to embark on a winter campaign. The image looks quite clean to the naked eye, however under high magnification there are numerous tiny spots on the emulsion. Overall very good condition.
