<B>Union General Winfield Scott Framed <I>Carte de Visite</B></I></B></I><B> Taken by Mathew Brady.</B></I> The image is matted, with the visible portion of the CDV measuring 2.25 x 4. The entire piece is framed to an overall size of 7.75" X 9.75". A brass nameplate underneath the image reads GENERAL WINFIELD SCOTT / USA 1786-1866. The image is the work of prolific Civil War photographer Mathew Brady. Scott was a United States Army general, diplomat, and presidential candidate. Known as "Old Fuss and Feathers" and the "Grand Old Man of the Army", he served on active duty as a general longer than any other man in American history and most historians rate him the ablest American commander of his time.
