<B>Union General Fitz John Porter Framed <I>Carte de Visite</B></I></B></I><B> Taken by Mathew Brady.</B></I> The image is matted, with the visible portion of the CDV measuring 2.25 x 4. The entire piece is framed to an overall size of 7.75" X 9.75". A brass nameplate underneath the image reads GENERAL FITZ JOHN PORTER / USA 1822-1901. The image is the work of prolific Civil War photographer Mathew Brady. Porter was a career U.S. Army officer and a Union general in the American Civil War. His military career was ruined by an unjust court martial called by political rivals. The image is in fine condition.
