<B>Union General Ambrose Burnside Framed <I>Carte de Visite</B></I></B></I><B> Taken by D. Appleton.</B></I> The image is matted, with the visible portion of the CDV measuring 2.25 x 4. The entire piece is framed to an overall size of 7.75" X 9.75". A brass nameplate underneath the image reads GENERAL AMBROSE BURNSIDE / USA 1824-1881. Burnside was a railroad executive, inventor, industrialist, and politician from Rhode Island, serving as governor and a U.S. Senator.
