<B>Union Bummer's Cap.</B></I> This Union bummer's or "forage" cap is made of dark blue wool cloth. An approximately 8” tear has been repaired at the back with thread but otherwise it is in good condition with only small pin holes at the top where a 5th Corps red felt badge has been applied with a brass "3" device attached. The leather chin strap with its brass buckle and two federal eagle buttons are in good condition. The leather visor of the cap is soft and pliable. <BR><BR>The inside of the cap has a 2” leather sweatband that is complete but has been detached at the rear of the cap. The hard leather board insert at the inside top is in good condition.
