Lon Chaney spoke onscreen for the one and only time in this his last film. Remade from the original 1925 Todd Browning version, Chaney reprises his role in the story told of three sideshow circus performers who escape their captivity and set up a crime syndicate using a pet store as their cover. Chaney plays Professor Echo, who transforms himself into Grandma O'Grady, a little innocent lady who sells talking parrots to the rich. Also featured is Harry Earle, remembered for his role as Hans in "Freaks", who reprises his role as the cigar chomping infant from the earlier version. Posters from any of the Chaney films are difficult to find and highly sought. This beautiful copy is one of only a few known to exist from this classic and is perhaps in the finest condition of all. Very Fine+ on Linen. <B>Estimate: $10,000-12,000</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
