US military semiautomatic rifle manufactured during WWII. Features parkerized refinish, 18" barrel, protected "RIA" marked blade front sight, adjustable rear peep sight with range slide marked "507160060", front sling swivel, rear sling slot, walnut type II smooth low wood stock with oval cut and oiler, 4 rivet handguard with deep sighting groove, rotating manual safety. Blued type III barrel band/bayonet lug marked M.M.O. (Quality Hardware) Type IV magazine release marked "M WA". "WA" stands for the manufacturer Wadsworth Watch Company. This part was implemented as early as early as 1944. Stock has no cartouches, appears to have been lightly sanded at some point. Barrel is marked "Underwood" with flaming bomb" with a date that appears to be 3-4, with "P" underneath. Rear of receiver stamped with flaming bomb. Type III round bolt adopted in March, 1944. Bore is excellent/bright. Retains 90% medium gray color parkerizing, with edge losses & handling marks, friction wear on the bolt. Wood is very good condition. the bottom of the grip cap has been sanded down with a feint stamping of what appears to be "HPD" The Honolulu police dept was know to have used M1 Carbines in the past, also there is the number "14519" electropenciled on top of the receiver. Includes (1) good condition blued steel 30 rd magazine marked "IR", and correct USGI green canvass sling. No oiler, sling is held by wooden dowel. Also includes USGI ammo pouch containing two type I 15 rd magazines, one marked "U" (Union Hardware, and one marked "K.I.(Keeler Brass for Inland).NRA Condition-Very Good. C&R firearm.
