<B>Undated PENNY Washington Liberty & Security Penny, Corded Rim MS63 Brown PCGS.</B></I> Ex: Norweb. Baker-30E. A rare variant of the Liberty and Security penny that features engine-turned rims, an improvement over the crude rims on the usually encountered Plain Rims variety. Rulau (1999) states, "12 specimens known." The present example is noteworthy for its remarkable strike, which has full details on Washington's epaulet and on the eagle's right (facing) wing. These design areas are opposite and are usually indifferently brought up. The chocolate-brown surfaces are smooth and attractive. A small obverse spot at 4 o'clock is noted as a pedigree marker. Listed on page 80 of the 2008 <I>Guide Book</B></I>.
