This painting in mixed media titled ‘Kopfgeburt’ (=bainchild) was created by the German multimedia artist Ulla Horký (born 1950). Like in many of her works also in this one figurativeness and abstraction melt together in a depiction of several circles reminiscent of a thought bubble.



The image is monogrammed and dated in the lower centre in the depiction ‘UH / 88’. Verso it is signed and titled ‘Ulla Horký 1988 / “Kopfgeburt”’. On the reverse is also a dedication ‘Für Gerda „Herzlichts und endlich …“ / 14.4.1993’. Work and frame are in very good condition with minimal traces of wear and age. The dimensions of the stretcher frame are 129.5 x 109.5 cm. The total dimensions, including the frame, are 132.5 x 112 cm.



Ulla Horký (born 1950)

Ulla Horký began studying painting, liberal graphics and illustration at the age of 17 at the Cologne Werkschulen. There she graduated as a master pupil. The first exhibition of her works took place in 1970. Ever since, exhibitions on international ground followed on a regular basis. (tm)
