362. Ub Iwerks Columbia Studios (300+) animation drawings for Color Rhapsodies miscelaneous titles. (Columbia, 1938) Vintage original (300+) animation drawings accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on 10 x 12 in. animation paper. Legendary Disney artist Ub Iwerks drew the first "Mickey Mouse" cartoons, including Steamboat Willie. When Iwerks and Disney parted ways, Iwerks entered into a contract with Charles Mintz of Columbia Studio where he was responsible for drawing half of the Color Rhapsodies produced from 1936 to 1940. This lot may include drawings from The Foolish Bunny (1938), Two Lazy Crows (1936), Mother Hen's Holiday (1937) and cartoons featuring "Krazy Kat" and "Scrappy" and more. Exhibiting production wear, age and some soiling and staining. Drawings range in condition from very good to very fine. $600 - $800
