Bingham, Utah, was establish in the 1860s, but copper mining, for which it is famous, did not begin until the 1890s. Mining focused in Bingham Canyon which continues to be one of the most prosperous centers of copper mining in Utah. Kennecott Copper Corporation obtained all mining lands in Utah by 1936. Many mines were establish, some of which are represented here in stock certificates and postcards. Blue border and decorative text. 7) Victoria Consolidated Mining Company unused stock certificate No. 1612. Black decorative border and text with gold-colored sunburst motif and illustration on top left corner. 8) United States Smelting Refining and Mining Exploration Company cancelled stock certificiate No. 42 for 1 share to O. J. Egleston, Apr 20 1944. Purple decorative border with black text on a purple background. 9) United States Mining Company cancelled stock certificate Number A220 for 100 shares to Curtis and Motley, Apr 6-1899.
