Block of wood removed from the mizzenmast of the USS Constitution during her wintering in San Diego, California in 1933; as part of the frigate's 1931–1934 tour of the U.S. coastline, the Constitution frigate underwent repairs in San Diego before making the return voyage to her homeport of Boston, Massachusetts. The block measures 3.25 x 4.75 x .5, features a metal loop for hanging to the top edge, and the front is nailed with a small descriptive plaque: "This block is a part of the mizzenmast of the historic U.S. frigate 'Constitution.'" In fine condition.
