"USA Outer Space "Passport" for the Journey to the Moon" (14x6") A four section "Passport" used with 1) a 6c Apollo 8 stamp tied by a FD cancel, 2) a 6c Apollo 8 stamp tied by a July 20, 1969 MOON LANDING, USA proof strike of this rare lunar landing cancel and 3) on the back, a 6c Apollo 8 stamp tied by a Webster, TX Aug 11, 1969 cancel with a "DELAYED IN QUARANTINE" handstamp alongside. The Webster cancel is the same as was applied to the flown covers carried to the moon by the crew. The covers were quarantined along with the crew and both were released from quarantine on 11 August at which time the covers were cancelled (at the closest Post Office). The "DELAYED" handstamp is one of the rarest of all the space handstamps and was only supposed to be applied to the flown covers. An extremely rare piece of memorabilia. This "Passport" was not flown, but all strikes are unconditionally guaranteed to be genuine.
