US model 1884 Trapdoor rifle, .45-70 caliber, 32-5/8” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, cartouche wood stock, serial #535304. Showing buffington type rear sight. The rifle remains in very good plus to near fine original condition with 90-95% original blue, some slight erosion and pinprick pitting just starting, some light areas at the muzzle for attachment of bayonet, breech block shows 50-60% case hardening, hammer shows strong traces of original colors. The markings are sharp, the edges are crisp, the stock is near fine with sharp SVW 1892 cartouche that is fully visible. A few dents and small losses along the cleaning rod channel. Some minor storage marks, but generally crisp overall. Good action, fine bore, cleaning rod included. An 8.5 to 9 on 1-10 scale. From the Bernard Braverman collection. Est: $600 - $1,200
