Cal. 30-06. S# 61598; Bolt, and floorplate have been numbered to match receiver. Bbl. 26". Bbl. is marked behind the front sight "W (flaming bomb) 8-19." Receiver is marked on the left rail with two eagle acceptance marks, a flaming bomb, and an encircled 5-pointed star, which indicates a rifle that was not to be shipped overseas. Ladder aperture rear sight, graduated to 1600 yds. Ladder is marked "R." Blade front sight with protective ears. Bolt, cocking piece, bolt stop and forend tip are marked "E." Replacement walnut stock set. Buttstock is marked behind the trigger guard "3A" and marked ahead of the trigger guard with an acceptance eagle. The stock set has its arsenal finish with legible markings, crisp edges and light sanding marks. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 17" fullered blade bayonet, marked on the the left ricasso with encircled "REMINGTON" and "1917." Marked on the right ricasso with "U.S. (flaming bomb) (eagle acceptance mark) 15 X." Scabbard is not present. Bayonet retains a large percentage of its lightly worn original finish. Grips have moderate wear, staining, and handling marks. CONDITION: stock set has a very good appearance with only light wear and small scattered handling marks. Metal retains 80% of its original blue, with thinning and light wear. Bore has lightly worn lands with frosted grooves. (25-2580/RW). CURIO. $700-900.
