US Model 1903 .30 caliber rifle by Springfield Armory fitted with Warner Swasey sniper scope, #914376, barrel Springfield Armory marked dated 5-18. The metal surfaces are in very good + to near fine condition showing approx. 90%-95%parkerized finish, some scratches and storage marks and some dings on fore end cap. The stock is very good + to near fine with “P” proof behind trigger guard and small numeral “56” also in this area with no cartouche on left side over triggerindicating probable arsenal re-build. The bolt is scratched with the numerals 1210-57 for identification purposes, the action is good, the bore is excellent; the sight mount and rubber eye piece are very good + to near fine showing most of the japan black finish over brass with just some scratches and losses at the edges; the optics are clear, the rifle has been returned to arsenal as most snipers of the early era were, but is in immaculate condition with exceptional optics which are normally not this clear. A rare early US sniper rifle; leather sling attached. With original leather scope case in good condition with normal wear. Est.: $3,000-$6,000.
