US Model 1860 Naval Cutlass, blade date 1864. Grip altered to Oak and blade polished for a 1935 classic movie “Mutiny on the Bounty”. The guard has been reduced and reconfigured and the hilt slightly reshaped. Consigned bythe individual who purchased Western Costume Co. One of a number used in the movie and not specifically identified to an individual. With documenting letter. Clark Gabel is seen with such a cutlass in many scenes.
