& MORE. 1) GAR HAT. A nice example of a GAR slouch hat in black w/ a metal GAR hat wreath & circa 1900 hat cord. Leather sweatband. CONDITION: light to moderate wear. 2) CANTEEN. A tin canteen, 6" in diameter w/ a tin screw top. Canteen is covered in a red velvet like material. CONDITION: light to moderate wear. 3) CARTRIDGE BOX. A circa 1830 leather cartridge box, possibly of French mfg. Box is not carried on a belt but rather a sling. There are 2 iron sling buckles on the base & 1 for the closing strap. Attached to the front of the box is a 2 piece French naval buckle w/ a snake type “S” closure. Buckle has anchors on each half. Interior is an open wooden box. CONDITION: cartridge box has several extra holes on the front & is dry & crazed. There are scattered tears & open seams, however the box is substantially complete. 4) NECK STOCK. A circa 1850 leather neck stock w/ a black painted tin buckle. Attachment strap appears to be a bit shortened. CONDITION: light wear. 5) CARTRIDGE BOX. A Civil War 58 cal. cartridge box w/ no tins. The buckle on the front is an “SNY”. CONDITION: box generally shows moderate to heavy wear. 1 Buckle is missing on the bottom. Significant finish is gone. 6) HAT. A circa 1872 New York 7th National Guard hat. Front has the standard 7th NY hat plate & the pompom is white & blue. Side buttons are 1872 infantry horns. Interior label reads in part, “GEO. W. SIMMONS & SON, MANUFACTURERS OF MILITARY REGALIA”. CONDITION: hat shows light to moderate wear overall. 7) BELT. A lg. leather belt measuring nearly 3" wide w/ a lg. iron roller buckle. Belt is possibly a waist belt but is also possibly horse tack. CONDITION: belt is quite stiff though remains solid. 8) WOODEN RELIC. A 9 1/4" piece of wood w/ a brass plaque attached that reads, “THIS MATERIAL WAS TAKEN FROM THE ORIGINAL HULL OF THE U.S. FRIGATE CONSTITUTION KEEL LAID 1794 REBUILDING 1927”. CONDITION: light wear.
