US AIR FORCE “OGDEN AIR LOGISTICS CENTER” FLAG.
3’ x 4’ double applique embroidered on ultramarine blue field and features the unit’s winged crest surmounted by the Air Force eagle and the thirteen white stars, gold fringe. This unit is based in Ogden, Utah and was first formed in January 1943 as the Ogden Air Depot Control Area Command. In May 1943, its name was altered to the Ogden Air Service Command and in November 1944 to the Ogden Air Technical Service Command. In July 1946, the name was again changed to the Ogden Air Material Area which it retained until April 1974 and the new name of Ogden Air Logistics Center, approximate date of flag.
Its mission is depot maintenance on a number of Air Force weapons systems including the A-10 Thunderbolt attack aircraft, B-2 Spirit strategic bomber, F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter and the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile. Since 2012 it has also assumed responsibility for the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona. This is where the famous “Bone Yard” of older planes placed in reserve and used often to supply spare parts for active aircraft. CONDITION: fine, staining & soiling. (02-19473-16/JS). $200-300.
