UNUSUAL WINDSOR CHAIR.
American, early 19th century, mixed woods. Probably an invalid's chair with bamboo legs and stretchers, and brackets on the foremost stiles, possibly to hold candle holders. Retains its original paint, though the seat is unpainted. 18"h. seat, 49 1/4"h. overall. Ex Dorie Stotz (New England).

Included with the chair is a letter from Nancy Goynes Evans discussing the chair.

Condition: Legs ended out, probably originally a rocker.
