Civil War era percussion musket, about .70 caliber. Appears to be of British or French manufacture. Makers, import, or arsenal markings appear removed early on, characteristic of many muskets smuggled into the CSA from Britain, during the Civil War. Gun was reputedly from Buford SC. Gun shows many service marks, and some later handling marks, but stock is free of significant damage. Still retains metal ramrod in stock. Lock and trigger mechanisms are still functional.
