NAVY ISSUE HATS & CAPS INCLUDING RARE WWII WINTER FUR HAT.
1) WWII MARINE CORPS FUR HAT. This forest green wool hat w/ brown lamb's wool was issued for service as worn by China Marines. Fold down ear flaps retained w/ snap & strap. Size tag has been removed from the padded cotton lining. Cap is unmarked & does not appear to have had any insignia mounted on front. Cap is in very good condition w/ very light wear at edges of lamb's wool.
2) USMC SUMMER DRESS HAT. Khaki dress hat w/ black leather visor & strap. Visor has correct dark green underside. Cap has screw back brass color globe & anchor. Wire stiffener. Size 7 1/8. Cap has light wear, staining w/ worn strap. Leather headband is mostly detached.
3) KOREAN WAR VINTAGE FIELD PILE CAP WITH FUR LINING. OD green. Flaps have tie closure.
4) M1951 PILE CAP. Green cloth cap is combination wool & cotton. Size 7. Instruction tag partially obscured by inked name. Flaps have tie closure.
5) CAP FIELD HEAVY. Cap has lighter green color & marked inside both "Marine Corps" & "USAF". Fold down ear flaps.
6) 2 KHAKI GARRISON CAPS. 1 With Major's leaf & darkened globe & anchor. 1 Without insignia. Size tags are illegible.
7) USMC CLOTH WINTER HAT. Marked inside "BERNHARD GREENBERG & CO." Contract dated June 1941. Specification dated October 1940. "Phila QM Depot". Cap has strap closure for ear flaps.
8) UNMARKED DARK GREEN WOOL CAP. Similar to above w/ tie closures.
9) US NAVY WWII FLAT HAT. Black hat is marked on front "U.S. NAVY". Size 6 7/8.
10) BLACK FLAT HAT W/ RED PIPING. Unmarked.
11) 2 SERVICE HAT COVERS. 1 Dark green wool. 1 Khaki. Khaki cover is marked inside "PAULIE, A.J." in ink. But covers are otherwise unmarked.
12) 2 US NAVY WHITE FATIQUE HATS. 2 Are white, 1 is dark gray.
13) 8 US MARINE CORPS PLEATED FRONT UTILITY CAPS. Caps have subdued globe & anchor insignia.
14) 2 WOODLAND PATTERN CAMOUFLAGE UTILITY CAPS. 1 Has soldier's name underneath visor. 1 OD green helmet cover for M1 helmet is unmarked. CONDITION: unless otherwise noted, condition runs from fair to good. Caps have normal wear, scattered stains & loose stitching. (02-15898/RW). $700-1,000.
