<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899>Collection of six signatures and one DS by prominent generals who were at the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863. Signatures include <b><font size=-1>Charles Griffin</font></b> (1825-1867) who had distinguished himself at First Bull Run, arriving on the field at Gettysburg on the third day. With rank as “<i>Brig Genl</i>”; <b><font size=-1>H. G. Wright</font></b> (1820-1899), leading the 1st Division of VI Corp at Gettysburg and throughout most of the war, adding “<i>Chief of Engineers Brig & Bvt Maj Genl</i>”; <b><font size=-1>Seth Williams</font></b> (1822-1866) serving as adjutant general of the Army of the Potomac at Gettysburg and throughout most of the war, signing “<i>S Williams</i>” as AAG; <b><font size=-1>Marsena R Patrick</font></b> (1811-1888) served as provost marshal of the Potomac under Meade and other commanders, signing with rank and “<i>Provost Marshal General</i>”; <b><font size=-1>John H. Ketcham</font></b> (1831-1906) served as Colonel of the newly organized 150th NY under Lockwood at Gettysburg and was later twice wounded in the battles around Atlanta under Sherman for which he was brevetted brigadier general, appointed major general at war’s close, signed “<i>J H Ketcham,</i>” adding “<i>Dover Plains NY</i>”; Major General <b><font size=-1>Carl Schurz</font></b> (1829-1906) led a division routed at Gettysburg, signing “<i>C Schurz</i>.” Present also is a partly printed DS by <b><font size=-1>Lucius Fairchild</font></b> (1831-1896), who led the charge up Seminary Hill at Gettysburg where he lost an arm. Signed “<i>L Fairchild</i>” as secretary of state for Wisconsin regarding “<i>School and University Lands.</i>” All boldly signed. Occasional mounting stains; o/w VG.
