U.S. model 1812 flintlock musket by Springfield Armory in .69 caliber remaining in very good plus condition showing 1816 date on lock and butt plate. The lock shows a very good Eagle stamp with fully visible U.S., Springfield and 1816 date.The metal surfaces show a little light cleaning long ago with some scattered light to moderate erosion and pitting. The pitting is occurring mostly in the firing area of the breech. The barrel shows a clear V and P proof withSpringfield Eagle. The stock is good to very good with some minor scratches, mars, a couple of small losses along the ramrod channel and normal aging. The original barrel bands are retained and the sling swivels have been removed. This musket is in its original flintlock configuration with correct parts (Refer Flayderman 9A – 173). William A.
