U.S. militia sword from 1830s to 40s by Horstman of Philadelphia retaining original hand engraved brass scabbard with Indian head pommel and pearl grip. The blade remains in fine to near excellent condition showing 90% plus bright original blue and gilt with original polish. The hilt and scabbard show an un-cleaned patina and just a few minor dents in the scabbard. The grips are in very good plus with minor chips. These Indian head pommel’s are always desirable and this is a nice example. Est.: $1,250 -$2,500.
