U.S. World War II Springfield Armory Semi-Automatic M1 Garand Service Rifle

This is a very nice, mid-WWII M1 Garand service rifles that was manufactured by Springfield Armory circa, mid 1943. The receiver is marked "U.S. RIFLE/ CAL. 30 M1 /SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" over the serial number with the side marked with the following heat lot information: 0 5 0/D28291-32. The barrel is marked "1-S-A-6-43" and it still retains it original bright polished chamber area on the end. It rifle is fitted with the following marked parts: bolt "D-28287-12SA/10A"; Operating rod "D35382 6 SA" and is uncut; trigger housing: "D28290-12SA", trigger guard is unmarked, milled, hammer "C46008-2 SA", Safety is stamped "C 46D15-9SA". It still retains the original WWII style rear sight set with the "Battle Range" markings on the elevation knob with the locking bar on the windage knob. It is fitted with a late pattern, wide base gas cylinder with an unmarked, WWII style round top gas cylinder lock and WWII, single slot gas plug. It is fitted with an original WWII GI walnut stock and handguard set that has the stamped rear handguard band with the oval middle barrel band with the solid barrel band pin. The stock is correctly cartouched on the left side with a boxed "SA/GAW" cartouche next to a crossed cannon Ordnance proof, with a smaller proof on the flat of the stock. There is a single circled "P" proof in the pistol grip area. The right side of the stock has a stamped rack number "51".

Manufucture: Springfield Armory U.S.
Model: M1-Garand
BBL: 24 inch round
Stock: walnut
Guage: 30-06
Finish: parkerized
Grips:
Serial Number: 2205609

Very fine with 95% of the original GI green/gray parkerized finish overall with edge and high spot overall, with wear and thinning on the bolt and gas cylinder. Some of the smaller parts have a slightly different shade of parkerized color, so there may have been some parts upgraded to make the rifle into the current configuration. The stock and handguards all appear to be very good plus with the handguards showing a slightly light color with minimal handling marks with the stock being darker and showing some minor handling marks on the sides. The cartouches and proofs are clear and distinct. This is a very fine example of a correct configuration WWII M1 garand rifle.
