Model 1911A1 Automatic Pistol manufactured by Remington Rand Inc., in 1944. The pistol has a gray-green parkerized finish, blued barrel and brown, checkered plastic stocks. The mainspring housing has eight ribs. The narrow hammer has a knurled spur with well-defined border. The safety lock has impressed checkering and the slide safety is serrated. The stamped trigger has a knurled face. The High Standard barrel is blued and stamped "HS" on the right side of the lug and "P" on the left side. The receiver feed ramp is polished. The Keyes Fibre Co., stocks have reinforcing rings around the screw holes and interior strengthening ribs. The inside of the stocks are marked with the keyes five-pointed star and mold numbers. The right side of the receiver is stamped with the Ordnance escutcheon behind the grip. "UNITED STATES PROPERTY/NO. 1745566" is roll stamped on the right side of the receiver behind the slide stop hole. "M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY" is roll-stamped in front of the slide stop hole. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the Ordnance final inspection mark "FJA" below the slide stop and a "P" proof mark below the magazine release. A "P" proof mark is stamped on the top of the slide ahead of the rear sight. The left side of the slide is roll-stamped with the third style, one-inch, marking: "REMINGTON RAND INC./SYRACUSE, N.Y.U.S.A." in two equal lines. The magazine has a full blue finish and is stamped "R" (Risdon Mfg. Co.) on the top of the floor plate lip.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol has all of the original components and retains 95% of the original gray-green parkerizing with some edge wear on the front of the slide and receiver and some finish loss on contact points of the rear sight, safety lock and hammer. The blue finish on the barrel chamber has heavy cycling wear. The remainder of the barrel retains nearly all of the blue finish. The markings on the slide and frame are crisp. The stocks are in excellent condition. The blue finish on the magazine is thin and 85% intact. This is an original example of a WWII U.S. issue Remington Rand M1911A1 pistol.
