Model 1911A1 Automatic Pistol manufactured by the Remington Rand Co., in 1945. The pistol has a gray-green parkerized finish, blued barrel and checkered, brown plastic stocks. The receiver feed ramp is polished bright. The slide stop, safety lock and hammer have a slightly darker finish than the slide and receiver. The trigger is stamped with a knurled face. The slide stop is grooved and the safety lock has impressed checkering. The pistol has an eight-rib mainspring housing and narrow trigger with knurled spur. The barrel is stamped with the High Standard ("HS") markings on the right side of the lug and a "P" proofmark on the right. The Keyes Fibre Co., stocks have reinforced screw holes and interior strengthening ribs. Mold marks and the Keyes five-pointed star are present on the inside of the stocks. The full-blued magazine is stamped with the "L" (M.S.Little Mfg. Co.) mark on top of the floor plate lip. The right side of the receiver is hand-stamped with the Ordnance escutcheon behind the stocks. The second style serial number: "NO. 2163606" is roll-stamped beneath "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" behind the slide stop hole. "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" is roll stamped in front of the slide stop hole. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the Ordnance final inspection mark "FJA" below the slide stop and a "P' proofmark below the magazine release. The left side of the slide is roll-stamped with the second style marking: "REMINGTON RAND INC./SYRACUSE, N.Y. U,S,A," in two lines. A "P" proofmark is stamped on the top of the slide between the rear sight and the ejection port.

Condition: Very fine. The pistol retains 90% of the original finish and has all of the original components. Bright metal is visible in the "P" proofmarks, and the Ordnance escutcheon. The barrel has 80% of the original blue finish intact; wear is limited to cycling marks on the chamber and some minor pitting in the bore. The slide retains nearly all of the original finish. The receiver has some minor edge wear and the parkerizing on the front of the grip strap is thin. The markings on the slide and receiver are crisp. The stocks are in excellent condition. The magazine retains about 95% of the blue finish.
