U.S. World War II Remington Model 1903-A4 Sniper Rifle
This is an example of a World War II Remington Model 1903-A4 Sniper Rifle with Weaver 330-M8 Telescopic Sight. The rifle has a blued telescopic sight, trigger guard and bolt with parkerized receiver, barrel, buttplate and barrel bands. The rifle has a WWII production, walnut, pistol grip, "C" stock and handguard. The stock has the proper Model 1903-A4 bolt relief cut-out and the rifle is fitted with the unique Model 1903-A4 bolt with milled handle. The receiver is fitted with a parkerized Redfield telescopic sight base and blued rings. The barrel, correctly is not fitted with a front sight base. The receiver is roll-stamped: "U.S./REMINGTON/MODEL 03-A3" on the left side of the scope mount with the serial number, "3412674" on the right side. The barrel is stamped "RA/Ordnance 'Shell & Flame'/7-44" in three lines. The late production Model 8 Telescopic Sight has a tapered cross-hair reticule. The right side of the scope tube is roll-stamped: "330 SCOPE - M 8 / PATENTS PENDING / W.R. WEAVER CO. / EL PASO. TEXAS" in four lines.

Stock: walnut
Gauge: 30-06
Finish: parkerized

Serial Number: 3412674
Condition: Excellent as arsenal rebuilt. The rifle retains 98% of the original parkerized finish with the blued parts also remaining 97% intact. The stock and forearm show minimal wear. The telescopic sight has nearly all of the original blue finish and the optics are excellent. The barrel appears to be a replacement from an M1903-A3 rifle and shows bright, un-parkerized metal under the location of the front sight base. The stock is a replacement and lacks the usual Ordnance proof and final inspection marks. The rifle is fitted with a commercial, russet leather sling. This is an excellent representative example of a WWII Model 1903-A4 Sniper rifle.
