Model 1911A1 Semi- Automatic Pistol manufactured by the Ithaca Gun Co., of Ithaca, New York, in 1945. Records indicate that this pistol was one of 2600 shipped to the Benicia Ordnance Depot on January 16, 1945. The pistol has a gray-green parkerized finish, blued barrel and checkered, brown plastic stocks. The narrow trigger has a serrated spur and the tops of the slide stop and safety lock are serrated. The stamped trigger has a knurled face. The main spring housing has seven ribs. The pistol has the original Flannery Bolt Co., barrel which has a "F" manufacturer's mark stamped on the right side of the lug and a "P" proof mark on the left side of the lug. The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with the distinctive Ithaca inspection mark. The receiver feed ramp is parkerized which is correct for Ithaca M1911 pistols in the 2100000-2134403 serial number range. The Keyes Fibre Co., stocks have strengthening rings around the screw holes and interior reinforcing ribs. The inside of both stocks have the Keyes' five-pointed star and mold numbers. The right side of the frame is lightly stamped with the Ordnance escutcheon behind the grip. "UNITED STATES PROPERTY/No. 2125804" is stamped behind the slide stop hole in two lines. "M 1911 A1 U.S.ARMY" is roll-stamped ahead of the slide stop hole. The Ordnance final inspection mark, "FJA", is stamped vertically on the left side of the frame below the slide stop and a "P" proof mark is stamped below the magazine release. A "P" proof mark is stamped on the top of the slide ahead of the rear sight. "ITHACA GUN CO. INC./ITHACA, N.Y." is roll-stamped in two unequal lines on the left side of the slide. The full blue magazine is marked with an "L" (M.S. Little Mfg. Co.) on the top of the floor plate lip.
