U.S. Whitney Model 1816 in-barrel-type conversion to percussion musket (Massachusetts Militia contract), .70 cal., 42” barrel, full length wood stock, sling swivels, lockplate dated 1834 (as is barrel), “MS” stamped on left side of barrel at breech, full length wood stock in overall good out-of-the-attic condition showing a heavy dark patina on metal surfaces, good action and markings on lockplate; good wood with normal wear for age and scattered mars and scratches from carry and storage, partially visible inspector’s cartouche on left side of stock above trigger; cleaning rod is missing.
