SEMI-AUTO MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 182174. Bbl. 24". Bbl. markings on right side are partially obliterated but appear to date to 1942 which indicates an early replacement. Bbl. has partially stamped “P” proof ahead of chamber. Throat & muzzle gauges 2.0. Bolt, operating rod, trigger housing, & hammer all marked “SA”. Milled trigger guard marked “WRA”. Adjustable aperture rear sight. Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Cross slot gas cyl. lock screw. Walnut stock set. Stock is marked on left side w/ very faint boxed “SA” & “E. McF.” & “RA-P” arsenal rebuild mark. Marked under grip w/ both circle “P” & “P” proofs. Buttstock is marked at belly w/ “182174” drawing number. Marked at end of pistol grip sm. stamped “GB”. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework finish w/ moderate wear, staining & handling marks. Metal has 80% original Parkerized finish w/ thinning & light wear. Fair bore turning dark in grooves w/ moderately worn lands. (22-4201/RW). CURIO. $700-1,100.
