This pistol was manufactured in 1942. The slide has the matching serial number and is marked with the two line, two block address/patent marking with the Rampant Colt in the center and a single "P" on top of the slide in front of the rear sight. The barrel is blue and the left side of the lug is marked with the letter "P" and what appears to be a portion of the letter "S". The left side of the frame has the boxed "W.B." inspection initials and "P" below the magazine release. The right side has "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" over the serial number and "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" ahead of the slide stop hole. It has the wide checkered spur hammer, checkered thumb safety, slide release and arched main spring housing. The magazine is parkerized and marked with the letter "S" on top of the toe and the pistol is fitted with brown checkered plastic grips with re-enforcing rings around the screws and lanyard ring on the heel. The recoil spring guide is a later production replacement.

Professionally restored to near mint. The pistol retains 99% of the parkerized finish with overall scattered light scuffs and scratches. The spring plug is a replacement. The grips are excellent with exception of a minor crack around the right lower screw radiating upward about 1/2" and down to the base. Otherwise sharp checkering. The markings remain crisp and clear. The mechanics are excellent.
