U.S. Test Trials Model 1900 American Eagle Military Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol, #7047, .30 Luger cal., 4-3/4'' barrel, blue with straw colored small parts, checkered walnut grips, early dish toggle knobs and grip safety, with correct nickel-plated wraparound body magazine with unmarked wood base. American eagle over chamber, DWM to toggle link, checkered safety lever, with all correct matching numbers. With only 1000 of this variation mfg'd, these pistols are considered very rare by collectors and fall within a specific serial number range. This particular pistol (#7047) has been known by collectors at least since 1976, where it is listed on page 70 of Michael Reese's monograph on the 1900 Test Trial Luger, at that time being owned by C.W. Foote. Condition is very good to near fine retaining approx. 92% original finish with thinning at high edges and very light toning. Front strap shows approx. 70% original toning blue; backstrap approx. 85%. High long edge of right frame side has thinned and toned somewhat more than the rest of the pistol. Straw parts show thinning and light spotting, predominently to the takedown catch and pivot area of thumb safety. Grips with light to moderate flattening and some oil darkening at edges. Action remains crisp, bore is very good with just light frosting in the grooves. A nice original and untouched Model 1900 U.S. Trails Luger pistol. Est.: $5,000-$7,500. (C&R)
