U.S. Springfield trapdoor carbine, 45-70 cal., 22” round barrel, wood stock, #497355. This carbine is in overall good condition showing a light brown patina over metal surfaces with scattered areas of light erosion and pin prick pitting confined primarily to the breech end of the barrel and the trapdoor; the bore may clean to very good, the action is crisp and the markings are sharp including the proofs on the left side of the barrel at the breech. The wood stock is overall good with scattered nicks, mars, wear and scratches but with visible circle P proof behind the trigger guard and the rectangular cartouche on the left side of the stock above the trigger; missing stacking swivel.
