Springfield post-Civil War trapdoor rifle with mixed and replaced parts, .50-70 cal., 32-1/2” barrel, lock plate dated 1863, wood full stock, sling swivels, #2983 on breech of barrel, left side and front ofreceiver, left side. This gun is in overall fair condition with grey patina and scattered surface pitting and erosion, good action, fair bore, wood stock is fair showing wear and scattered nicks and mars from carry andstorage; later replaced metal cleaning rod.
