U.S. Springfield percussion military rifle, .58 cal., 40” barrel, wood full stock with steel ramrod and socket bayonet. This gun is in overall good condition showing a muted bright finish to the metal surfaces with scattered areas oferosion, “V”, “P” and eagle head proofs on the left side of the barrel at the breech, “1865” on top of barrel by action, sharp lock markings including the spread American Eagle on both the lock and on the bolster flat, “U.S. Springfield”and the date “1864”; the action is good, both sling swivels present, the bore dark and the wood overall good with scattered nicks, mars and scratches with some losses along the ramrod channel and toward the front top sides of thestock.
