U.S. Springfield percussion Cavalry Musketoon, .70 cal., 26” barrel dated 1851, swivel ramrod, lockplate dated 1853, saddlering on long bar, brass trigger guard, barrel bands and butt plate, wood stock. This gun is in overall very good condition showing a bright barrel, good eagle and US on lockplate as well as Springfield and date; crisp action and crisp V, P and eagle head on barrel at breech; US at top of butt plate;very good wood with “J.P.F.” carved in right side of butt stock; a really nice example in better than usually found condition. Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
