U.S. Springfield flintlock musket with socket bayonet, lock dated 1813, .69 cal., 42” barrel, bright finish, full wood stock, three barrel bands, two sling swivels, top of barrel is US marked at breech and “P” and “V” proofed. This early Springfield is in overall good condition showing a brown patina over bright finished metal surfaces with some scattered spots of erosion and pin prick pitting; visible “US” and “Springfield” a little light with partially visible spread eagl on lock plate, 1813 is horizontally marked on rear of lock plate; good action; overall good wood stock with scattered areas of wear, mars and scratches from carry and storage, flared iron ramrod retained, top of steel butt plate dated “1815”; left side of butt stock shows an indentation at the comb for resting the cheek; bayonet is in overall fair + condition and marked “US” “SC” at the base of the triangular blade.
