U.S. Springfield Trapdoor shotgun or “Forager”, 20 gauge, 30” barrel, wood half stock, no barrel band or cleaning rod, #40554. This period conversion is in overall good condition showing a brown patina onmetal surfaces with some light scattered spots of erosion, dark bore, good action and markings on the lockplate; wood stock is in overall good condition with some scattered nicks and mars, several old cracks and neatly accomplished wood insets on the left side of the frame at the screw heads; solid butt plate without door for cleaning rods.
