U.S. Springfield Trapdoor carbine, .45-70 cal., 22” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood stock, #209799*in overall good to very good condition with plum brown patina and traces of original case colors on thetrapdoor and hammer, good bore, crisp action and good markings; stock is overall good with faint circle P proof and hint of outline of inspector’s cartouche on left side of stock above trigger; scattered old mars, dings andscratches plus several old marks where the back end of a cartridge was stamped into the right side of the butt stock and underside of the fore end.
