U.S. Springfield Trapdoor carbine, .45-70 cal., 22” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood stock, #209799*. This gun is in overall good condition showing a plum brown patina on barrel and receiver, silvery tonedtrapdoor; grey/brown patina to lock plate; crisp action, overall good bore, good markings and proofs at breech of barrel; saddle ring missing but bar is present; stock is overall good with scattered old mars andscratches from carry and storage; circle P proof visible behind trigger guard; two interesting old marks in the stock, one on the right side of the butt stock and the other in front of the trigger guard eachlooking like a stamping from a brass cartridge base.
