U.S. Springfield Model 1888 Trapdoor “Ramrod Bayonet” rifle, .45-70 cal., 32-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood stock, sling swivels, #514461 in overall very good condition showing an even dark patina on metal surfaces,very good to near fine bore, crisp action, very good markings including correct proofs on left side of barrel at breech, very good + wood stock with no visible inspector cartouches or proofs; per Flayderman’s, approx. 65,000 manufacturedbetween 1889 and 1893 with this being the last of the U.S. Trapdoor single shot big caliber black powder long arms and a key piece for any collector of Springfields.
