The ski-slope rear sight is graduated to 1,200 yards and is marked with the letter "R". The lock plate has the eagle/shield and "U.S./SPRINGFIELD" and the low arch breechblock is marked "US/MODEL/1873". Left rear of barrel has "V/P/eagle head/P" proofs with "R" on the top. Stock has a "SWP/1884" cartouche on the wrist and a circled script "P" behind the trigger guard. (This is either the last Model 1879, or it has a replaced stock with it being an 1884 cartouche). The rifle has a "US" marked socket bayonet.

Condition: Excellent. The rifle retains 95% original blue finish showing some minor thinning with some minor spotting. The breechblock and tang retain 85% original case colors. The stock is also excellent with a few minor handling marks. The cartouche is crisp. Mechanically excellent.
