Blade front and folding leaf rear sights, with an American eagle on the bolster, "1863" on top of the chamber and "V/ P/ eagle head" on the upper left flat. The lock plate is marked "1863" behind the beveled hammer, with the Eagle and Shield motif next to "U.S./ SPRINGFIELD" ahead of the hammer. Smooth straight grip stock, with a tulip head straight shank steel ramrod, 3 screw secured barrel bands, sling swivels, "ELA" and "FRH" cartouches on the left flat and a smooth "US" marked metal buttplate. With a wooden barrel plug.

Condition: Very good, with mild handling marks and spotting on the bright cleaned barrel, and some darkening of the case colors on the lock plate. Scattered light dings, with traces of flash pitting around the nipple. Stock has been cleaned but remains very good, with some light chipping around the ramrod cutout and scattered pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
