U.S. Springfield Model 1861 percussion musket, .58 cal., 39-1/2” barrel, bright finish, sling swivels, flared ramrod, 1862-dated lockplate, wood stock, in overall very good condition with proper proofs on left side of barrel at breech, brown patina on metal surfaces, crisp action, overall very good wood with two very good inspector cartouches on left side of stock above trigger, scattered mars and scratches from carry and storage; old chip of wood out edge around lower side of lockplate; nothing serious.
