Blade front and folding ladder rear sights, with "V/P/Eagle head" on the left side of the barrel and "1858" ahead of the tang. The lock is dated "1858" behind the hammer and stamped "U.S./SPRINGFIELD" below the bolster. The Maynard tape primer compartment lid is stamped with the Springfield "Eagle and Shield" motif. Smooth straight stock, with brass tip, tulip head ramrod, 3 "U" marked steel barrel bands, sling swivels, "JS" and "ESA" cartouches on the left flat and a "US" marked buttplate.

Condition: Fine overall, bright, with scattered patches of pitting and mild handling marks overall. Stock is also fine, with sharp cartouches and flats, a small chip absent rear of the lock plate, scratches on the underside of the forearm, and scattered dents. Mechanically fine.
